65 Percent Of Washington's Drivers Eat Behind The Wheel

Seattle, WA (WFN) -- Could there be something about Seattle's gloomy weather that drives folks there to eat while they're driving?

A new survey shows 65 percent of Washington State's motorists pig out while they're chugging along the road.

That's not all. The poll by PEMCO Insurance reveals 58 percent of the drivers talk on their cell phones while behind the wheel.

Other dangerous distractions for drivers include...

-- Steering with your legs instead of your hands. Twenty-five percent of the motorists polled admitted to this.

-- 14 percent shave or apply makeup while driving.

-- Finally, we're not sure how they do it, but six percent say they read the newspaper or a book while navigating road traffic.
