San Diego, CA (WFN) -- An author is getting students who are preparing for college entrance exams to read between the lines with a new novel. Charles Harrington Elster, a self-described logophile, or word lover, has written "Test of Time" (Harcourt), his second novel filled with vocabulary words typically found on the SAT and ACT tests. The words appear in the text in bold print, and the student gleans the meaning of them through the context of the story and by using the glossary provided at the back of the book. Elster's new book is a time travel novel where Mark Twain is transported to modern-day America. Elster says he paid close attention to the words he was putting in Twain's mouth because he had to "make sure nothing that came out of his mouth was out of sync with time."
