Reno, NV (WFN) -- The U.S. military is calling muster on five old howitzer guns that were on loan to two ski resorts in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. According to the Associated Press, Alpine Meadows and Mammoth Mountain were given the guns last year to fire into snow banks to prevent avalanches from occurring, but now the military needs them back to fight the war in Iraq.

The recipes were all written by inmates who used only a hot-plate and a frying pan. A first-class chef was asked to pick the best recipe, and the winning inmate, who made sea-bream with mushrooms on a bed of lettuce, won a television for his cell.
