San Diego, CA (WFN) -- The late 1980s metal band Queensryche is still rocking away and its career is especially ship-shape today (Apr. 29). The band is performing in San Diego and plans to sneak in a tour of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, which is stationed there. It's an honor that rocks the world of singer Geoff Tate, who says he's never been aboard an aircraft carrier despite having a father who fought in Korea and Vietnam. Tate says he relates to soldiers because he "...grew up with all the rules and regiment" and says some of the band's biggest fans are soldiers and ex-soldiers. He figures it's because "humans aren't meant to be wired tight. They need an emotional outlet to let their hair down." Queensryche's latest release is "The Art Of Live," a DVD featuring live footage of the band from its last concert tour.
