Fat Bastard is the name of a French Chardonnay and Shiraz that which name is a British expression meaning "whoppingly great." Fat Bastard is what the French winemaker exclaimed in broken English when he tasted the full-body of a barrel that aged longer than usual The company admits it's an usual name, but they claim their wine is the top selling French Chardonnay and Shiraz in America, which they attribute to the unique name. And Fat Bastard just got a little fatter. The winemakers Guy and Theierry are currently touring the Northeast of the U.S. to introduce their new Fat Bastard Merlot.
