Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Regardless of what you think of Whitney Houston, actress Debra Wilson has a very good impression of the singer.

The former "Mad TV" star has been spoofing the diva for a few years and experts are singing her praises over how she portrays the side of Houston seen in the gossip pages and scandal sheets.

Wilson does a crack job at portraying Houston but she prefers to call her performance "an impression, not an impersonation" because she's only "doing justice to the public's perception" of the singer.

But while Wilson has earned great reviews for her Houston, she hasn't heard from her inspiration and admits she doesn't plan to.

In her words, "[Houston] has too many focuses in her life -- with her kids and her husband -- that she doesn't need to be busy thinking about me."
