New York, NY (WFN) -- Skin experts will be tickled pink over the first annual Skin Pigmentation Awareness Week, which starts next Monday (Apr. 26). The Skin Pigmentation Knowledge Center's campaign is an opportunity for doctors to give folks the skinny about skin pigmentation conditions and encourage people to speak with their dermatologist. According to the group's experts, millions of Americans will suffer a skin pigmentation disorder in their lives, which can lead to embarrassment and emotional distress. That's why the group is warning people about the dangers of sun exposure. The top three pigmentation conditions are: Melasma, which are dark blotches on the face, forehead and neck; Solar Lentigo, which are brown spots on sun-exposed skin; and Vitiligo, which was made famous by Michael Jackson and is characterized by depigmented white spots on the skin.
