Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- It pays to be a good sport when you're both a hockey fan and a soap opera actress.

Michelle Stafford -- who plays Phyllis Summers Abbott on "The Young And The Restless" -- is as obsessed about the Stanley Cup finals the way other soap actresses fret about the Daytime Emmys.

That means she spends much of her time between takes catching up on the National Hockey League scores.

Currently, Stafford is rooting for the Colorado Avalanche to take the Cup but admits she's heartbroken the Los Angeles Kings didn't even make it.

Stafford comes by her love of the sport from her stepfather and she is knowledgeable enough to have been a hockey commentator on "The Best Damn Sports Show Period."

But while Stafford is currently in hockey heaven, don't expect her to get on the ice herself. As far as skating is concerned, she says she "bites."
