Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Singer Sophie B. Hawkins is hoping at least one of her new songs becomes as popular in strip clubs as dance clubs. Tomorrow (Apr. 20), Hawkins is set to release "Wilderness," her first recording in 5 years and she is convinced that one song, "Sweet Sexy Woman," is destined to become a strip club standard. In fact, she's staking her life on it. As she puts it: "If it doesn't become a hit with strippers, I'll die." Hawkins has a good ear for what songs take off in strip clubs. Her hits, "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover," and "As I Lay Me Down" have long been favorites with lap dancers. It's an honor that Hawkins wears with pride by not always wearing clothes on stage herself. She admits she always strips a little during "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover."
