Hollywood, FL (WFN) -- Basketball teams looking to upgrade their defense could do worse than to draft "Slugger" Koenig but, chances are, he'll get dogged. It would be with good reason: the Hollywood, Florida, resident is only three years old and he's a dog. Despite that setback, owner Tina Koenig says her Australian Shepherd, "Slugger" excels in the finer points of hoop defense, such as ball-stealing and rebounding. He's even better at trash talking than Charles Barkley -- barking up a storm at the ball until it stops rolling. Athletic skills run in his family. Slugger's brother is a frisbee champion but, so far, no one from the NBA is scouting him yet. It's just as well. He's a lousy shot and he tends to "get benched" for being too aggressive. Plus, owner Koenig worries that "basketballs are hard and might hurt his nose."
