South African Health Minister Wins A Flying Pig

Fort Lauderdale, FL (WFN) -- Psychic Sylvia Browne may not have predicted it but she's now the proud owner of a flying pig.

Maybe "proud" isn't the right word. The flying pig is actually a "Pigasus Award," a dubious honor given out annually by the James Randi Educational Foundation to "honor" people who are promoting psuedoscience.

Foundation spokesman James Randi -- who informed Browne of the honor "via telepathy" -- says she deserves the flying pig for incorrectly predicting Saddam Hussein's death and for charging clients $700 per 30-minute session.

Meanwhile, South African Minister of Health, Dr. Manto Tshabala-Msimang, earns a flying pig for telling citizens that the combination of garlic, herbs and liver is an effective treatment for AIDS and tuberculosis.
