San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- Posh pet owners in San Francisco will be lining up on Friday (Apr. 2) to bid on the rover equivalent of Beverly Hills mansions. Eleven habitats for the most pampered of pets are expected to fetch up to $3000 apiece on the auction block at the so-called "Petchitecture" event to benefit the charity Pets Are Wonderful Support. One of the lapdog retreats is dubbed "Dogs Need Luxury Too" and consists of an inlaid wood martini bar with cabinet doors which open to reveal a padded dog bed. Others include... -- The 1960s-inspired "Shag Chaise," a shag-covered chaise lounge which is suspended from a stainless steel rod. -- "Cataraxis," a cat habitat which includes hemp-covered bamboo poles for scratching, a reflecting pool and wheat grass "zen garden." -- And the "Doggy Day Bed," which looks like a fold-out human bed with a fish tank in the headboard.
