Greeting Card Line Turns Cats Into Real Cards

Baltimore, MD (WFN) -- Anyone with a dog or a cat knows they can be real cards. But they're not known for sending cards -- until now.

The greeting card chain CardSmart has just created what president Petter Etholm believes is a major innovation: The first line of cards for pets to send to other pets.

Etholm says pet cards aren't exactly new but his creative staff spent hours howling at the moon coming with hundreds of ways to express emotion pet-style.

In the process, there were a lot of "doggy" cards that were discarded.

Currently, the card line is geared to dogs and cats but Etholm says consumer response will dictate whether goldfish, ferrets and parakeets get their say as well.
