New York, NY (WFN) -- A lot of Americans plan to greet the start of spring with a weighty new attitude. According to a survey by the Dietdirectives website, 30 percent plan to go on a diet. The South is especially weight-conscious -- nearly 3 out of 4 folks think they need to shed some lard. DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -- Chocolate is causing many American dieters to go to the dark side. A new survey by eDiets.com suggests that chocolate is the No. 1 food people when breaking a diet. Meanwhile, 12 percent go off the food wagon for cake while 8 percent crave potato chips. LOS ANGELES -- Here's irony for you: A Ventura County, California, man who works as an advocate for affordable housing is being forced to relocate because he can't find affordable housing for himself. Lyle Wray makes $80,000 a year, but that still isn't enough for him to buy a home in the affluent southern California county, where the median home price is $351,000, according to "The Los Angeles Times." DALLAS -- Men aren't as commitment-phobic as women think they are, if a new survey is any indication. The poll by TrueBeginnings relationship service finds 67 percent of single men are ready for a commitment, compared to 76 percent of single women.
