|
Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Songwriter Lamont Dozier is famous for co-writing classic songs like "How Sweet It Is," "Stop! In The Name Of Love," and "Baby Love" -- but he may have an even more unique claim to fame. Dozier may be the only person in the country who likes the music played in supermarkets. Of course, he may be biased, considering a lot of the MUZAK that's played in the malls was written by him. As Dozier puts it, "I'll be shopping and my ears will start hearing something fresh and new. Then I realize, 'Oh wow, I wrote that."' Dozier's songs not only sound new to him, he wants them to sound new to Motown fans. He's just released a new CD, "Reflections Of Lamont Dozier," which strips down 12 of his best-known songs to "the original versions with the heartbreak and despair with which they were conceived."
