Las Vegas, NV -- An artist and poet in Las Vegas is giving Americans something to sing about by rewriting an old song from Harry Truman's campaign days for John Kerry. Mary Jo Magar turned the song "I'm Just Wild About Harry" into "I'm Just Wild About Kerry" and had the song delivered to Kerry via singing telegram during the Democratic Caucus on Valentine's Day. Magar reworked the lyrics as: "We're just wild about Kerry/ And Kerry's wild about us - USA!/ Finally a candidate worthy/Someone we can discuss." Kerry's campaign has no plans to use it as a theme song, but one spokesman says they've used "It's a Beautiful Day" by U2 and Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender." However, L.A.-based media expert Tom Brennan says it would be a good idea if Kerry uses the old tune written by Eubie Blake in 1921. In his words: "Why not connect with classic American jazz, like Blake, than connect with lame commercials like Walter Mondale's "Where's the beef" and courting phony corporate populists like Bruce Springsteen."
