Americans Come Clean -- They Actually Like Housecleaning

Washington (WFN) -- Americans are coming clean about their secret passion -- housecleaning.

According to a spring cleaning survey by the Soap and Detergent Association, only 8 percent consider cleaning up as something they dislike and a whopping 88 percent claim a clean house is essential to health and happiness.

In addition, many Americans consider themselves "neatniks": 25 percent rate their house nine points on a ten-point scale and 52 percent think they're at least a seven as far as cleanliness is concerned.

Finally, if Americans do consider themselves slobs, they're not admitting in public. Only 6 percent rate their cleaning skills lower than a four.
