New York, NY (WFN) -- Here's news that'll perk you up: March is National Caffeine Awareness Month in the U.S., and its purpose is to make caffeine consumers aware of the additive's health risks. The national sponsor of the awareness month is a soy-based coffee producer, and its spokeswoman Marina Kushner says caffeine consumption can lead to nervousness and irritability and is linked to heart disease, pancreas and bladder cancer. She says "soyfee" is the healthy alternative which she claims tastes just like regular coffee and has added health benefits because its made with soy beans. Kushner says soy coffee encourages the flow of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine which can improve cognitive and memory functions, making coffee drinkers feel like they're getting their daily pick-me-up from coffee. The company is working to raise awareness this month with a media campaign and going to grocery stores to give samples of soyfee.
