Mel Gibson Tackles Another Icon: Evel Knievel

Atlanta, GA (WFN) -- Mel Gibson is one ambitious filmmaker: First, he makes a film about the last twelve hours of Jesus Christ's life and now he's doing a movie about daredevil Evel Knievel.

Gibson is one of the executive producers for "Evel Knievel," which just began preproduction for a future airing on the TNT network.

But don't expect Gibson to be doing any of the motorcycle stunts. The title role for the biopic is being handled by George Eads, who plays Nick Stokes on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Production begins in April but no air date is scheduled.
