	2004-02-19 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Animal Rights Groups Have No Beef With Consensual Cannibalism

Washington, D.C. (WFN) -- Animal rights and vegetarian activists have no beef with eating meat -- as long as its human. The Florida-based industrial rock band Hell On Earth is offering fans a chance to eat human flesh during an upcoming concert. Surprisingly, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals doesn't have a bone to pick with the stunt since the meat-eating is consensual. In fact, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has it stipulated in her will that after her death she is to be barbecued and fed to someone who might otherwise kill an animal. PETA spokesman Dan Shannon says "consensual cannibalism" is better than eating animals who have no choice but doubts humans will ever be killed as cruelly as the creatures raised in factory farms. Meanwhile, cannibal contest organizer Billy Tourtelot says he's forbidding vegetarians from entering the contest because he's "pretty sure they'll wimp out at the last minute."
