New York, NY (WFN) -- Anyone who's searched for a clean restroom while walking the mean streets of Manhattan can appreciate this: A list of the cleanest and dirtiest toilets in the Big Apple. The makers of a toilet bowl disinfectant called ToiletClean have just released the rankings, which are based on their observation of various public loos in New York. Based on factors like bowl cleanliness, overall cleanliness and the amount of puddles and paper towel/toilet paper litter, the company ranks the public bathroom on the basement level of the St. Regis Hotel among the cleanest. Also top-notch are the restrooms in the first level of the Plaza Hotel and the upper floors of the Guggenheim Museum. On the opposite end of the scale are the toilets on the lower level of Grand Central Terminal, the bathrooms at the Port Authority bus station and the porta-potty at the South Ferry subway station, all of which are filthy. Finally, train travelers who have to answer nature's call on their way out of Manhattan will find the cleanest stalls on the Amtrak Acela trains, and the dirtiest on the MetroNorth trains.
