Chicago, IL (WFN) -- If plastic bags aren't your bag, there's a guy in Chicago who can help you out. Vincent Cobb owns and runs ReusableBags.com, which sells a variety of nylon, mesh and hemp fabric bags that folks are supposed to use to tote around their groceries and other purchases when shopping. Cobb claims consumers toss anywhere from 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic shopping bags in garbage dumps worldwide every year, and the site is his way of reducing the amount of bag litter. He understands it can be hard to get people to change their habits, which is why he's selling items like the Acme Workhorse bag -- a nylon bag which folds into a tiny, portable pouch. Cobb also hopes to lobby grocery stores to refund customers 10 cents for every reusable bag they bring in when shopping. Still, the anti-plastic bag man admits plastic bags will still be used for some things -- like trash, dog droppings or raw chicken.
