Miami, FL (WFN) -- Before Paris Hilton and Pam Anderson had their private sexual antics tossed into the public eye, Popeye and Donald Duck did. From the 1920s to the 1950s, many kids learned sexual education from "Tijuana Bibles" -- eight-page comic books featuring famous animated characters getting down and dirty. One of the carnal comics showed Donald Duck having sex with Minnie Mouse and hiring gay prostitutes. Another strip showed a threesome between Popeye, Wimpy and Olive Oyl. Although "Tijuana Bibles" gave many kids their first peek at sexual activity, collector Bob Adelman says their most lasting influence may be their attitude because the satirical sex scenes were a direct influence on "Mad" magazine. These days, "Tijuana Bibles" sell for $800 apiece but Adelman has compiled a few of the best in his book, "Tijuana Bibles: Art And Wit In America's Forbidden Funnies, 1930s-1950s" (Simon & Schuster), which just came out in paperback.
