Washington (WFN) -- The man who invented Superglue is getting stuck with a great honor -- a spot in the Inventors Hall of Fame. Chemist Dr. Harry Coover just learned about the coveted honor and is pleased because it shows the benefits of sticking with something that works. Coover first came up with Superglue during World War II but he stuck it to the side while working on other products. However, he stuck with it for ten years of hard work before the idea stuck with consumers, starting in the mid-1950s. Ever since, Coover's glue has been used on everything -- including the atomic bomb -- but he's most stuck on its medical uses. Superglue has been used by the military to close up wounds since the Vietnam War and now mainstream medical doctors are sticking by Coover's invention. Coover is being honored with a statue which will be stuck in the Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio.
