57 Percent Of Singles Think First Dates Are A Waste Of Time

New York, NY (WFN) -- A lot of singles can't find a single reason to enjoy dating.

According to a new survey by Colgate toothpaste, a whopping 57 percent of singles think first dates are a waste of time.

But not every single is as cynical: 42 percent are convinced that every date presents a chance to meet "The One."

Other single-oriented stats...

-- 79 percent of singles spend 47 minutes preparing for a first date.

-- 13 percent of singles plan two dates for the same day.

-- Finally, 40 percent of singles say smoking is a deal-breaker for romance and 5 percent refuse to go out on a second date with someone who insists on answering their cell phone during the first date.
