Guerneville, CA (WFN) -- A college student in Tampa, Florida, is turning out to be a prize-winning proposer. Justin Ramedia -- a graphic design major at Florida Southern University -- recently proposed to his sweetheart, Beth Striplin, and not only won her hand, he won $10,000 in a Best Proposal contest sponsored by Korbel Champagne. Ramedia proposed proposing to his gal on the skating rink at New York's Rockefeller Center -- with the help of some skating cupids holding signs reading, "Will you marry me?" Luckily, she said yes, but it wasn't as romantic as Ramedia would have liked. He wanted to have rose petals scattered on the ice but officials nixed that as a "skating hazard." The couple plans to get married next March and will use the ten grand on a honeymoon to an island resort. In addition, Ramedia says some of his friends have proposed he capitalize on his talents for romance by creating a business specializing in unique proposals.
