San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- Love is better the second time around, according to the authors of a new book on how to play the midlife dating game.

Nancy W. Collins and Mason Grigsby are middle-aged singles who've seen it all and lived to tell it in the new book, "Love at Second Sight" (New Horizon Press).

They say although many Baby Boomers who find themselves single again after years of marriage are intimidated by the idea of dating, they're actually better prepared than they were as young whippersnappers because they know what they want.

Still, there are a few common mistakes to avoid during a date: Men shouldn't blab on about their successful careers, while women shouldn't bring up the Big C -- committment -- right off the bat.

Grigsby and Mason also say it's very important to be honest about your age, because if you lie that could blow your chances.

Finally, when you break-up with someone, be nice: They might become a friend who eventually hooks you up with the guy or gal of your dreams.
