Lyrics 'No Existential Study' For Orgy Singer

San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- Some songwriters like John Lennon used their music to explore their hidden depths -- but not Jay Gordon.

The lead singer of the techno-metal band Orgy admits the lyrics come last for him and "are no existential study. I just want to connect."

Orgy's biggest connection with the mainstream came in 1998 with their hit cover of New Order's "Blue Monday," and he hopes the band's upcoming CD, "Punk Statik Paranoia," does the same.

To that end, Gordon says he spent the last few years concentrating on songwriting and, this time, "I don't care about the intricacies."

But while Gordon has high hopes, he's also remaining humble. In his words, "I don't think I ever connect with enough people as it is."

"Punk Statik Paranoia" hits stores Feb. 27. and its first single is "The Obvious."
