New York, NY (WFN) -- A large Spector is looming over a popular British band's attempt to conquer America -- Phil Spector.

The rock group Starsailor has just released its new CD, "Silence Is Easy," on U.S. shores as a follow-up to its million-selling debut album, "Love Is Here," and is touring the United States promoting the album.

Spector -- who is currently dealing with murder charges related to the death of Lana Clarkson -- produced two songs on the album but those are the ones getting the most attention from much of the media.

Bassist James Stelfox laments, "Some interviewers don't even mention the band -- just Spector!"

But while Stelfox would like to avoid talking about the Spector case, he's not avoiding his friend. He says the band is in "e-mail contact" with the notoriously eccentric producer on a fairly regular basis and hints "it will be interesting to see how things turn out."
