Encino, CA (WFN) -- Today (Jan. 27) marks Thomas Crapper Day, named for the man whose name is synonymous with the modern toilet, but in Encino, Calif., a modern day Crapper has created a new addition to the toilet. Mark Bernsley is the man behind Zeets, a corrugated cardboard disposable seat cover made with a smaller hole to fit the bums of kids six and under so they won't fall in the can while using a public toilet. Necessity is the mother of all inventions, as was the case for Bernsley, who started working on the product two years ago when his daughter was four. He says his wife used to hold his daughter above the seat so she didn't fall in and her tush wouldn't touch the dirty rim. Bernsley later added handles to the side because he discovered kids like to grip the toilet while they're on the throne. Now that Zeets are on the market some adults are asking Bernsley if he'll make an adult version of the covers, but, for now, he has no plans for future potty-based products.
