Las Vegas, NV (WFN) -- The future of poetry may be found in video arcades, not in coffeehouses. That's the word from one budding poet in Las Vegas, who has just written the first poetry collection dedicated to 1980s-era video games like "Pac-Man" and "Joust." Seth "Fingers" Barkan -- author of "Blue Wizard Is About To Die" (Immelman Press) -- says he was inspired to write his "Pac-Man" poetry after realizing how many important events in life took place around video games -- like the time he "...saw two punks stealing beer from a 7-11." Barkan says it isn't just the events in the arcade that inspired poetry, it was the games themselves, such as "Paperboy," which he feels teaches an important life lesson: Some jobs aren't worth the money. No word if Barkan's video game verse will score with players, but he figures that even if only one out of 100 video gamers buys his book, he'll still be one of the best-selling poets ever.
