| 2004-01-15 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Boy Band Beats Rock In Debut Novel From Guns 'N' Roses Insider | ||
|
Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Lisa Reed is an insider on the hard rock scene thanks to her marriage to Guns 'N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed. So it's a little hard to believe it was the music of The Backstreet Boys which inspired the male romantic lead in her debut novel, "Sabra's Soul" (Twenty First Century Publishers). But it's true. The new romance novel is about Sabra, the young wife of a hard rock band manager who finds herself falling for Adam, a 23-year-old hottie who sings in her daughters' favorite boy band. Reed says at the time she came up with the Adam character, her daughters were playing a lot of Backstreet Boys music, and that inspired her to create the soulful boy band hero. Many of the plot twists in the novel are based on real events Reed has witnessed in the music scene, but she admits she's never seen a rocker wife hook up with a singer from a boy band. Still, she says the scenario fit perfectly for her main character because, "It wouldn't have made sense for her to leave her husband for another hard rock guy."
