Philadelphia, PA (WFN) -- Talking dirty may be the best way to help a person increase their vocabulary. That's what SAT prep coach Renee Mazer has learned while helping college-bound kids prepare for the vocabulary part of the big test. Mazer figures teens are more likely to remember a word in a racy context so she tells them stories about her dates, like the lifeguard who stripped naked and "wasn't diminutive if you know what I mean." You'd think some parents might curse up a storm after hearing their kids apply a dirty context to dignified vocabulary words but Mazer says she's only heard nice things. That may be because kids who use her "va-va-va-voom" vocabulary tips increase their verbal scores on the SATs by 82 points and, in her words, "are incorporating them into their everyday speech." Mazer discusses increasing the vocabulary on a new educational CD, "Not Too Scary Vocabulary."
