MLK: 'I Have A Bean'

Philadelphia, PA (WFN) -- The late civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr. will be getting a sweet tribute this MLK Jr. Day (Jan 19): A portrait made entirely of jellybeans.

The jellybean portrait was commissioned by the Jelly Bean Nation, an awareness campaign put on by radio station WXPN-FM in Philadelphia and GlaxoSmithKline to teach children that people are like jellybeans -- "98 percent the same ingredients on the inside with only two percent of the ingredients making the difference."

King's jellybean image will stand four-feet-high and consist of 33 pounds of jellybeans in dozens of flavors.

WXPN-FM producer Robert Drake says he's confident this is the first bean portrait ever made of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The work of art will hang in the station offices.
