West Chester, PA (WFN) -- Comedian Joan Rivers loves to shop so much that she's helping the QVC cable network shop for a new host.

Next Monday (Jan. 19), Rivers will be in Port St. Lucie, Florida, to help the shopping channel launch a nationwide search for a new host to help pitch products on-air.

Rivers has a vested interest. She's been hawking jewelry and skin care products on QVC for 13 years and prefers a host "who understands and likes the product."

It's more than just good salesmanship: Rivers says the perfect shopping channel host has "something that is just there that registers on camera and it's always the least-likely person."

QVC will also be holding auditions in San Antonio, Tex.; Chesapeake, Va.; Culver City, Ca.; Providence, R.I. and Chicago and viewers will choose the new host from the top 5 finalists during a special broadcast on May 7.
