Philadelphia, PA (WFN) -- A little thing like mad cow disease isn't scaring off tailgaters at this weekend's NFL playoffs (Jan. 17-18).

Jack McDavid, chef and co-host of the Food Network's "The Tailgate Show," expects folks will be eating high off the cow, like they did at the Green Bay Packers/Philadelphia Eagles game in Philly yesterday -- where folks are confident their locally-grown beef is safe.

In general, McDavid says tailgating trends this year had folks eating high-quality cuts of beef like filets, rib-eye and prime rib.

Other fancy football foods McDavid has seen fans eating at tailgatings this year include venison, buffalo, shellfish and caviar washed down with $400 bottles of Opus wine.

A final tasty tidbit: McDavid says folks prepare their meats spicier at tailgate parties than at their backyard barbecues. In his words: "They like more sass in their step."
