Ewan McGregor Shows Albert Finney How To Reel In A 'Big Fish'

Hollywood, CA -- In a meeting of the thespian minds of Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney, you'd expect the elder actor to teach the younger a few tricks.

That wasn't exactly the case on the set of the new Tim Burton movie "Big Fish," in which McGregor plays a younger version of the tall-tale-telling Southern businessman played by Finney.

The two men didn't share any scenes, but they collaborated on certain tasks they both had to perform on film -- such as fishing.

Finney asked McGregor to join him to learn how to cast a line out into a river, but the young whippersnapper ended up teaching him a few things.

In Finney's words, "I asked him, 'How do we cast?' And he showed me. I tried it and well, it wasn't as easy as it looked."

Still, the elder actor got to lead the way for the rest of the shoot. He says, "Fortunately, the rest of the time, my work came first so [McGregor] had to follow my lead."

"Big Fish" is in limited release now.
