Sleeping With The Enemy: The In-Laws

Chicago, IL -- A new survey is throwing the covers off people's sleepover habits when they stay with their in-laws.

According to the poll by the Orbitz travel website, 61 percent of adults find it stressful to either stay with their family or have family members sleep over during the holidays.

Women are more likely to get a headache over holiday stay-overs: 65 percent say they're stressed by family sleepovers, compared to 56 percent of men.

It could be the accommodations causing the problems: 30 percent of couples stay overnight at their parents or in-laws house in their childhood bedrooms, while 20 percent are housed in makeshift guest bedrooms like living rooms or home offices.

Finally, 36 percent of adults say when they bring a significant other to stay overnight with family, their parents insist on having a say about the bedroom arrangements.
