Snapple Fan Uses 10,000 Caps To Buy A Caddy

New York, NY -- It takes a lot of effort to go through 10,000 bottles of Snapple -- just ask Manhattan resident Justin Mondshine.

He's just traded 10,000 Snapple caps for a vintage 1959 Cadillac Eldorado that the drink company was making available at an online "Yard Sale" where folks used caps as currency.

In July, Mondshine started his quest by paying the janitors at his office 10 cents for each cap they recovered from the trash. But he quickly realized this wouldn't add up quickly enough, and decided to take drastic measures.

Mondshine had 416 cases of Snapple lemonade shipped to the garage of his parents' house in Long Island, and gathered friends and family to uncap the whole lot during one marathon session.

Although his new Caddy has some transmission problems, he feels this "lemon" was definitely worth all that lemonade.

"My cap collecting became a gag at work," Mondshine says, "but now I'll show them when I drive up to the office in a vintage Cadillac."
