Classic Tv Stars Are Real Cards

Bell Gardens, CA -- Some classic TV stars will be proving they're real cards tomorrow night (Oct. 15) -- as in poker.

"Eight Is Enough" pop Dick Van Patten is hosting something called the "Classic TV Poker Invitational," at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, Calif. -- which is one of his hangouts.

All the contestants are also stars of classic TV shows, including "Brady Bunch" cast members Barry Williams and Susan Olsen, "Batman" star Adam West, "Happy Days" dad Tom Bosley, "Odd Couple" star Jack Klugman and Dawn Wells from "Gilligan's Island."

Contestants will be playing for a $10,000 grand prize, but Bicycle Casino spokeswoman Kelley O'Hara says the celebrities probably don't need that sort of incentive.

She says she sees lots of celebrity poker players and they're very competitive. For instance, Ben Affleck once spent 24 hours playing poker at the casino and is now taking private lessons from a champ.

The couch potato card tournament will be broadcast on TV Land early next year.
