Don't Pad Resume By Running For Governor Of California

Goldens Bridge, NY -- Running for the office of California's governor might get Gary Coleman and 130 others some publicity but it probably shouldn't be mentioned on a job resume.

That's the advice of New York-based resume expert Peter Newfield, who says the candidates should leave the recall election off their job history unless they can support their candidacy with other details.

For instance, Newfield doubts there's anything in Coleman's job record that would suggest he's capable of being a leader, such as being president of the Screen Actors Guild.

Also, Newfield isn't sure porn actress Mary Carey can transfer her "core competency skills" as a stripper to elected office.

But while the business skills of candidates like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Larry Flynt might carry over to the governor's office, he's not sure they'll want to mention their campaign experience on their resumes if they lose because, in Newfield's words, "It's like almost winning a million dollars."
