Norwegian Elvis Impersonator Attempting Marathon Concert

Kristiansand, Norway -- A Norwegian Elvis Presley impersonator is getting all shook up for 30 hours in hopes of getting in the record books.

The impersonator, who calls himself "Kjell Elvis," has been performing as Presley since 9 a.m. EST yesterday (Aug. 19) and doesn't plan to stop until at least 6 p.m. EST today.

That should easily beat the old impersonation record of 25 hours, 33 minutes and 30 seconds set by British-based impersonator Gary Jay.

Kjell Elvis' manager Jorn Gjersoe says the Norwegian King has a 100-song set list that he will perform over and over and the singer has been in serious training for the event, so he looks nothing like the fat Elvis.

Norway is a long way from Memphis, but Gjersoe says Elvis has always been a big star in Scandinavia, especially hits like "Love Me Tender."
