Los Angeles, CA -- You might think that a church held in a nightclub wouldn't have a prayer, but it's just the opposite.

Paster Erwin McManus is head of a Gen-X church called Mosaic based in Los Angeles which is reaching the generation turned off by religion.

McManus uses topical subjects from pop culture like "The Matrix" and "As Good as it Gets" to relate to his flock, all while holding meetings in a former nightclub.

Other Christians may object, but McManus says, "If Jesus is the solution to our problems then he would be in a nightclub showing us the way."

McManus' methods must be having an effect because he has 1500 followers at his Los Angeles church alone, and several churches around the country.

McManus should be reaping more of what he sows for a while because he has a new book out next month called "Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul" (Phenix and Phenix).
