Loudon Wainwright Hopes Tonya Harding Hears 'Tribute' Loud And Clear

New York, NY -- Tonya Harding may not be in the news this week but she's in the heart of songwriter Loudon Wainwright III.

Wainwright is about to release a live CD, "So Damn Happy," and one of the tunes, "Tonya's Twirls" concerns the scandalous skater Tonya Harding.

The song is a few years old but Wainwright says he "keeps putting in albums until she hears it."

No word on how Tonya will react to lyrics like, "They all look like princesses/ Little Barbies to the core/ But she was your parent's nightmare/ The slut who moved next door" but Wainwright says if she walks out during one of his shows, he'll probably just "assume she has to go to the bathroom."

"So Damn Happy" will released August 19 and Wainwright is predicting one tune, "The Shit Song" will become as popular as his 1972 hit, "Dead Skunk."
