Winslow, ME -- A woman who runs a homeless crisis hotline may soon be thrown out on the streets herself.

For years, Jan LightfootLane has been helping the homeless find homes via a phone line in her trailer in Winslow, Maine.

But now, her landlord wants her out and she can't afford another place.

LightfootLane says her troubles started when her landlord balked at her taking in her ailing mother's Jack Russell terrier.

Then he said her garbage "stank to high heaven" and told her she had to move out by September 1.

The homeless helper says she makes too much money to benefit from the assistance programs she recommends on her hotline, so now she's hoping some good samaritans will help her out.

Ideally, LightfootLane would like to get $50,000 for a fixer-upper house that she could turn into permanent headquarters for the homeless hotline.
