Youngsters Falling In Love Earlier Than Ever

Arlington, TX -- People are falling in love younger than ever these days.

According to a new dating survey by American Consumer Opinion, the average age of a first crush is getting younger and younger. In fact, the average person under the age of 35 falls in love when they are 9-and-a-half years old.

By comparison, boomers between the ages of 35 and 44 say they didn't have their first crush until they were 10-and-a-half and oldsters over 55 waited until they were 11 before falling in love.

Not only are young people falling in love at a younger age, they're having more love partners.

Adults under 35 have an average of 11.7 romantic attractions before the age of 18, compared to baby boomers who averaged 7 lovers before the end of high school and oldsters, who were only attracted to five people when they were teenagers.

Finally, today's teens may be falling in love sooner because no one is saying they can't. Less than 36 percent of teens are prevented from dating outside their age group.
