Los Angeles, CA -- It's a magical time for magician David Copperfield, who has decided bigger is not necessarily better.

Copperfield has conjured up a new trick where he shrinks his body down to the size of Austin Powers' nemesis Mini-Me and will try the trick out live on the "Today Show" Wednesday (Jul. 2).

One thing that sets this one apart from other tricks: Copperfield will do it surrounded by an audience which, he points out, "makes it a lot harder."

It's more low-key than famous Copperfield tricks like making the Statue of Liberty disappear. Still, he feels it's more entertaining because, in his words, "it's about people's dreams. People imagine what it's like to be small, or flying, not about making the Statue of Liberty vanish."

The "Today Show" trick is meant to conjure up interest in Copperfield's new tour, which begins July 18 in Miami.
