New York, NY -- America's top songwriters are singing the praises of singer Patti LaBelle.

Tomorrow (Jun. 12), the original "Lady Marmalade" will be given a lifetime achievement award by the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

LaBelle is flattered by the honor but admits she's more concerned with the performance she will give at the ceremony, a musical tribute to the astronauts who died on the Space Shuttle Columbia last February.

The singer has no plans of slowing down her life despite the lifetime achievement award. LaBelle is currently working on a pop CD, a gospel CD and a line of fake fur coats.
