Los Angeles, CA -- The kitchen seems a strange place to pick up acting tips, but it's worked for one of the stars of the upcoming sequel to "The Fast And The Furious."

Thom Barry, who reprises his role as hard-nosed FBI agent Bilkins in "2Fast 2Furious," says he learned a lot about being an authority figure in a previous job for Duncan Hines.

His job was developing formulas for cake mixes and, consequently, he spent his time mixing and baking cakes -- sometimes up to 21 a day.

Barry says the corporate environment taught him how to play the authority game and command presence -- something that he's now required to do in roles playing judges, congressmen and FBI lawmen.

As for his latest stint, he promises "2Fast 2Furious" will be full of "fun, action, cars and hot bodies" -- although Vin Diesel's won't be one of them.

The movie opens in U.S. theaters June 6.
