Springfield, NJ -- Sure, the U.S. government recommends having a disaster preparedness kit at your home -- but carrying one on your body at all times?

Well, that's what one maker of emergency gear advocates.

Alan Breindel, the president of New Jersey-based Secure Defense Systems, Inc., says anyone in potential terrorist targets like big cities, government buildings or power plants should have a disaster kit on their person right now.

Breindel says being prepared for an attack will help you feel less worried and essential items to carry include food, water, a dust mask, a flashlight, a whistle, a solar blanket, an AM/FM radio and a poncho -- which can all fit into a fanny pack, briefcase or purse.

Of course, Breindel has plenty of these items to sell -- including mask and goggle sets that fit on a belt and high-calorie food bars.
